As part of measures to boost welfare of Lagos civil servants, the State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has promised to increase the workers minimum wage before the end of the administration.
Sanwo-Olu said that the increments became necessary considering effects of inflation on the over 100,000 workers’ ability to purchase and seek for better services in the state.
He also disclosed that vehicles would be distributed to staff that have attained the position of Directors, as a means of encouragement for their services to the state over the years.
According to him, the first phase of the distribution will start with 100 vehicles, and other phases will be done after that for the workers.
The governor disclosed the planned increments on Tuesday during an interaction with workers on their challenges and possibly solutions to better welfare as well as improve productivity.
